Getting there

I've been on the prowl for a decent dual sport lately and got to thinking about how to transport my board(s) on it. I grew up on dirt bikes so making one street legal, fabbing a rack on the side and taking places where even your typical 4x4 can't go is the ultimate dream for me. Its been done and documented here (likely on many other occasions as well)

My next question is how the hell am i going to strap my 9'8" log on that thing?

Dude, that is a sweet idea for sure. You could seek out the sweetest secret spots and have them all to yourself.

But you are right, a log at high speeds requires a delicate balance. I have a hard time on my bicycle with a breeze and my 9 footer. I can even imagine doing that motorized.

Still...it seems like it is worth a try. Think of the glory if you get it to work!

Actually, I have been seeing more and more Vespas with surfboards lately like this: http://www.groupharrington.com/classic/surf.shtml

How swanky is that?
